"It's hard to fight an enemy who has outposts in your head."
--Sally Kempton
In Wildfire Writing class I have everyone nail their enemy, the critic. Give the critic a name. Write about when and where he or she first showed up in your life. List the most frequent things the critic says to you. Now write down your retorts to all the critic's snotty, snarly, know-it-all criticisms.
Do it now, before that critic starts thinking he's important. (So vain, he probably thinks this post is about him.)
haha! Yes, my greedy, snide critic does think this post is about him! : )
ReplyDeleteNo statue was ever built for a critic.
